Letters from Happy Brides and Gooms
April’s bright smile and warmth radiated from moment one and never left
I really don’t know where to start. There were times when I’m not sure how our wedding would have happened without April Williams Photography. We met April at a Portland Wedding Show…actually we met her husband first, but the way he sang her praises, combined with the beautiful artistry of how she played with light in her photography, we knew we had to meet her. April’s bright smile and warmth radiated from moment one and never left. We met with her again later that month to discuss what our vision was for our wedding, packages and budget. She gave us the privacy and space to discuss between ourselves and we were still so wowed over, by not only her talent but April as a person, that we rearranged our budget just so she was our photographer. Our (original) wedding date was spring of 2020. Two weeks before our event we had to make the decision on whether or not to move forward despite this new thing called “COVID”. April was one of the first people I called. She talked to me for (easily) 15-20 minutes, reminding me that the only thing that mattered was my honey & I and that she’d be there regardless! After chatting with our other vendors and weighing the want to get married with being safe – we pushed our wedding date to early Autumn 2020 (because there’s no way COVID would still be “a thing”). The week we (re)scheduled for was the week of the large wild fires in Oregon. Once again, we were facing the question of do we move forward; and once again April was there by our side saying she’d support us no matter our decision – at our venue, a back yard wedding or a pajama part in our livingroom with our fur-babies. We kept to our date but changed venue with a 24-hour notice to our vendors. Didn’t phase April at all. She was there bright and early to scout the new location for the perfect backdrops. She captured both the tender and silly sides of family, didn’t hesitate to accommodate weird photos requests from me (a Gone with the Wind corset photo and wearing cat ears at our First Look), and managed to turn thr smoke filled air into a magical fairy world of mist and beauty. April wasn’t just our photographer – she was a therapist, a friend, and our wedding guardian. Booking April Williams was the best decision we made, next to saying Yes to one another. She’ll forever be in my contacts and be our go-to photographer.
Response from April Williams Photography
Morgan, I love you and Chris so much and am so honored to be following you around in your life. Thank you for inviting me in!
April Williams did a fabulous job capturing each and every special moment of our day! I had very high hopes and our pictures turned out even better than I could have ever imagined!
My wedding planner and I first met with April to talk about my vision for the wedding and what important photos I wanted to capture. April was very personable so I instantly warmed up to her and knew that she would be the perfect fit. I had pinned a few examples from Pinterest of shots I wanted to take and April was more than happy to make sure we got those photos. I also really liked that she went through a list and noted which people at the wedding I wanted to make sure I had photographs of. Wedding are crazy and overwhelming, but it was impressive to see she was so organized.
The day of the wedding, I was more excited and emotional than I’ve ever been. April documented each and every moment, while making me and our guests feel comfortable and radiant. She brought out our best smiles, poses, and her attention to detail really made these pictures amazing! Our photos turned out so incredible that a handful of them have popped up in local Portland wedding magazines and ads, which is always so fun to see and share with friends and family!
We’ve been married for almost a year and I still look at our pictures daily (I’m not lying)!! I’m in love with all of them and am so happy to have met April Williams. She’s such a joy to work with and I will continue to use her for any and all future events. I would absolutely recommend April to any bride that’s looking for an amazing wedding photographer.
Our wedding was August 24, 2012 and April did such an amazing job! I have a pretty big family with lots of little kids and she was just great with them. We got married in a mansion style house specifically built for weddings. After the ceremony we took some time to get pictures of just me and Kristopher. They turned out even better than I could’ve imagined. We got a great family photo of my side with 4 generations. We haven’t ever had a family photo like that so it was a really great idea.
April also did a boudoir photo book for me as my wedding gift for my husband. The photos turned out great and I felt so comfortable with April. She kept it fun and listened to my input and helped me come up with ideas for poses and whatnot. He loves the book.
What really helped too was the business cards April hands out with instructions on how family members can print the photos. I know it saved me a lot of time trying to tell everyone.
April photographed our wedding in October 2012. We did a destination wedding and had her come with us to photograph that, as well as a reception when we came back to Portland after. It was not our intention to bring a photographer abroad for our wedding, but after we met with April it was the obvious choice to bring her. Looking back, I can’t imagine not having her with us for that day!! Not only was she a great photographer, but she was a joy to have with our families for our celebration abroad. She did an amazing job on all of our pictures, both at the wedding and the reception. We will have these pictures for the rest of our lives and I cannot be happier that I found April. I have reccomended her to several friends since our wedding and will continue to do just that!
